Donna Adelson is set to go to trial in September. She’s accused of helping orchestrate the 2014 killing of her former son-in-law, Dan Markel, a Florida State University Law Professor.

The trial date of September 30th will mark jury selection with opening arguments slated for later that week.

Adelson is the latest member of her family to be charged in Markel’s death. Her son, Charlie Adelson, was convicted of paying hitmen to kill Markel in 2014.

The law professor was embroiled in a custody fight with his ex-wife, Wendi Adelson, at the time of his death. Charlie is Wendy’s brother, and Donna is their mother.

Donna Adelson was arrested in November while trying to board a one-way flight to Vietnam. She and her husband booked the flight shortly after Charlie Adelson was convicted for his role in the crime.
