Florida A&M University Office of Housing invested $3.5 million in renovations to modernize and update amenities in Palmetto South and Phase III on campus residences this summer.

Florida A&M University has announced the completion of a renovation project for two of its on-campus student housing complexes.

The $3.5 million investment was used to update kitchen appliances, install new HVAC controls, brand new flooring, and pest treatment.

FAMU’s “Palmetto South” and “Phase III” apartments will house more than 700 beds for students. The project comes a year after the university faced backlash for not having enough on-campus student housing and a pest infestation that resulted in hundreds of students moving into hotels.

Students will start moving into the units next week.
