Nearly ideal weather helped boost attendance for the Grand Parade and Festival in the Park events.

The festival was originally part of an organized campaign to dissuade the Florida Legislature from moving the state capital to Central Florida.

This year’s extravaganza coincides with the city’s 200th birthday.
