Local officials have voted against a plan to purchase part of Tallahassee’s Railroad Square. But the vote leaves the door open for a potential future partnership between the Southside Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and a group of people working to revitalize the local arts district.

Railroad Square's existence as a Tallahassee art park and commerce hub remains uncertain. Staff at the Southside Community Redevelopment Agency are recommending not purchasing the parcels. However, backers of the art park are quickly trying to formulate an alternative plan.

A citizens advisory committee is suggesting the city purchase part of it.

Tallahassee Commissioners are asking its community redevelopment agency staff to look into buying a large portion of the Railroad Square Art District.
