After a drought of more than three years, Tallahassee fans of art films and foreign movies are rejoicing at the re-opening of the All Saints Cinema just off Railroad Avenue. This past weekend was just the second one in the theatre's rebirth.
One of the first excited moviegoers in the ticket line was retired teacher Joy Rowan, a long-standing member of the Tallahassee Film Society, which runs the Cinema.
"We just have such fun down here, all of us! The movies are wonderful to come see."
Doug Martin, the Cinema's house manager, says the little theatre is slowly getting back up to speed after a long break caused by COVID and then the remodeling of the building.
"Next week we've got a Korean film, 'Walk Up.' And then in a couple weeks, we have a Belgian mystery, 'The 12th of June' is the title. We're actually showing it on the 10th of June."
But whenever they're shown, Martin says all the films will continue the All Saints Cinema tradition of featuring the very best movies the world has to offer.
