Some of the most candid photos ever taken of musician John Lennon are now on exhibit in Tallahassee. Railroad Square's 621 Gallery has the images and the woman who took them is there as well.

The photographer is May Pang. She was Lennon's love interest during the infamous "lost weekend," which actually lasted 18 months during 1973 and 1974. Back then, Pang considered those images a very private matter.

"I never thought when I took these photos years ago that they were going to be hanging in a gallery. They were for me and him to look at and say, 'Hey, I've got some photos here.' I just like taking photos."

And the nearly three dozen images in the collection show Lennon in moods from thoughtful to playful. Pang also captured Lennon's hand signing the legal document that dissolved the Beatles. The gallery exhibit is open Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan. 23-24) from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. both days.
