The new “Leon Works” program is intended to connect more potential employees with jobs that require skill, but not necessarily extensive academic credentials. A public expo to explain the program and attract participants takes place at Lively Technical Center on October 23. To talk about it are: Leon County Board of County Commissioners Chair Mary Ann Lindley; Cristina Paredes, director of the Leon County Office of Economic Vitality; Dr. Randy Pridgeon, division director of secondary education for Leon County Schools; Ben Pingree, executive vice president of the Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County; and Shane Lambert, head of Shane Y. Lambert Construction, general contractor.
