Florida lawmakers have reached a deal on one of the most contentious issue facing the legislature this year—how to fill a billion dollar hole in a program reimbursing hospitals for treating uninsured patients. More than 17,000 Americans died from prescription pain killer overdoses in 2011. The year before, heroin overdoses sent 3,000 to morgues across the country. Today, more people die from overdoses than car crashes. Painkiller and heroin deaths can easily be avoided with a simple shot of Naloxone, an opiate reversing drug.
