Alexandra Dresner
News InternMy name is Alex Dresner and I am a senior at Florida State University, pursuing a degree in Media and Communication Studies. I am an aspiring reporter, specifically intrigued by criminal news broadcasting. If I'm not reading up on current events or writing creative stories, you can probably find me shopping at the mall!
I have always been deeply passionate about creative writing, but it wasn't until I had the opportunity to become the weather girl on my high school's daily news program that I fell in love with media broadcasting. From writing punny scripts and skits, keeping up with trending news stories, and editing raw footage into meaningful stories, I am striving to reach my goal of becoming a powerhouse news anchor.
I am part of the News and Continuity department at FSU's student-run radio station, WVFS Tallahassee, in which I have been able to learn from my peers about the behind-the-scenes of news production, along with reporting live on hard news stories of my choosing. I was introduced to WFSU when I had the opportunity to perform as an entertainment reporter for FSU's Seminole Showcase.
Once I heard that WFSU was looking for interns, I knew I would do whatever it took to learn from the best. I am so thrilled to be an intern for WFSU and I hope to absorb knowledge and become a well-versed reporter with real-life experience. I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with such talented and successful individuals in the field. WFSU, I am so ready to learn, bring it on!
