The Governor’s Office says the money will be used to resume the Northwest Florida Beaches marketing campaign

Visit Florida, the state's tourism marketing arm, gave $1 million to the Northwest Florida Tourism Council to promote the Panhandle region as it recovers from Hurricane Isaias.

According to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office, the money will be used to “resume” the Northwest Florida Beaches marketing campaign, which highlighted the region's beaches, outdoor recreation, and unique visitor experiences. The campaign emphasized fall and winter drive-market travel.

Isaias swept through the region as a Category 2 storm last Friday, making landfall near the coastal tourist community of Destin in Okaloosa County.
