Forecasters are predicting extreme cold for the Panhandle and Big Bend. A wintry mix of snow and sleet is also expected throughout the area.
The Leon County School District has alerted parents schools will be closed Wednesday January 22, 2025 due to the expected winter weather. Officials say more details will be forthcoming.
Other school districts in the area say they're monitoring the forecasts and will keep parents updated about any plans for closure through their websites and social media.
