Florida A&M dominates Texas Southern in 58-28 homecoming win: 'We will cherish the victory'

The Rattles win their 23rd straight game in Bragg.

Over 23,000 fans packed Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday for Florida A&M's sold- out homecoming game.

The Rattlers defeated the Texas Southern Tigers 52-28.

The win improved FAMU's record to 5-3 and 3-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play, while the Tigers dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in SWAC play.

Quarterback Daniel Richardson led the team to victory as seven different players reached the end zone. Richardson ended the night with 267 passing yards and five touchdowns.

Freshman running back Levontai Summersett rushed for 75 yards, averaging 12.5 yards per carry.

The Rattlers jumped out to a 28-0 lead before Texas Southern scored, but their defense maintained control by forcing four sacks and nine tackles for loss to seal the win.
