Kirk Reams, 46, and two other men were accused of defrauding Jefferson County out of more than $800,000, according to a news release from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Reams is accused of defrauding the county out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A former Jefferson County Clerk is expected to appear in front of a judge in May.

The trial is set for Kirk Reams, who is accused of defrauding the county out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Jefferson County’s Clerk was arrested last September on charges of grand theft and organized scheme to defraud. He and two other county officials are accused of funneling more than $800,000 dollars of public funds into their own pocket.

An investigation found that the men were using a county credit card to pay for non-office related items and travel expenses.

According to State Attorney Jack Campbell, Reams’ trial date is set for May 6th. The news comes a week after the former clerk filed a motion demanding for a speedy trial.

Warren “Charles” Culp Jr., who was a financial consultant to the clerk of court, and Justin “Tyler” McNeill, a former deputy clerk of courts, are also facing charges in connection to the incident.
