Florida State’s 45-24 win over eighth-ranked Louisiana State University has vaulted the Noles into early playoff consideration.

On Monday, the Associated Press named FSU as the fourth best football program in the country, a spot Florida State has not held in nearly seven years.

“That was one game, that was our first step and that was a big step right," said FSU head coach Mike Norvell. "You get a chance to be on this stage, you want to go play well. I don’t think we played our best game, but I thought that second half we were able to finish the way we wanted to.”

Norvell and the Noles have a chance to pick up their second win of the season this weekend against Southern Miss. That game will be played at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday at 8:30pm.
