Indoor football is returning to Florida's capital city after nearly two decades.
The Arena Football League announced on Tuesday via Twitter that Tallahassee will join 16 other cities across the country in the league's relaunch next year.
Back in the early 2000s, Tallahassee had two short-lived indoor football teams; Tallahassee Titans and the Tallahassee Thunder. Both teams shared home games in the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
The AFL’s shortened field gives fans a chance to enjoy the game at a faster pace while players get to live out their dreams as professionals.
According to the league’s website, the 10-game season will start in April of 2024.
