The weeklong training event brought hundreds of young musicians together as they strut through FAMU's campus on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

Florida A&Ms Marching 100 is showcasing some of the best and brightest musicians in the country this week.

Florida A&M's historic band is going on 29 years of hosting a summer program aimed at middle and high schoolers. The annual band camp helps those kids hone their skills.

The sound of more than 300 young musicians filled the campus of FAMU. Thursday's parade was a chance for the students’ parents to show their support.

Many parents haven’t seen their kids in a week. Since last Saturday, campers have undergone hours of rehearsals both on the field, and off. Current band members and directors held lessons on jazz and concert arrangements, even covering the more complex blend of pop music and dance— a hallmark of the school’s famed marching band.

The camper’s final performance is this Saturday at the Al Lawson Center on campus. There, students can once again show off their moves in an arena that can seat 9,000 people.

The show kicks off at 10 am.
