Applicants for the Tallahassee Police Department's Youth Citizens' Advisory Council will meet this Saturday.
93 people between the ages of 13 and 17 applied to be on the council. TPD is gathering all those people together to hold an informational meeting. Applicants will learn about the requirements of a council member and the responsibilities involved. The council's goal is to reduce juvenile crime and strengthen TPD's relationship with local young people. That involves getting members' perspectives on issues they have and developing solutions. Eventually, TPD will narrow down applicants for an executive committee with possible subcommittees as well. The meeting will take place on September 19, beginning at 10 a.m.
