The Tallahassee Police Department’s Citizens Advisory Council will learn about the use of force this Saturday during a workshop. The Citizens Advisory Council is meant to help the police department improve its relationship with the community. For some, that relationship has been frayed after a number of officer-involved shootings this year—including the shooting death of Tony McDade, which made national headlines. On August 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, council members will learn about the use of force. Including the principles and legalities. Officers will provide demonstrations of best practices.
