The test site at Florida A & M University will no longer accept new appointments.

The COVID-19 test site at Florida A & M University is now accepting walk-ups only. Tonya Tatum is the university's Director of Student Health Services. She says the site will honor appointments already made, but won't schedule new ones. She says it's been tricky for receptionists to juggle appointments for regular coronavirus testing and antibody testing, while also prioritizing people 65 and older, or 18 and younger.

"So we decided to kind of simplify things and make it a little easier for our reception, our concierge staff to help individuals that were coming up," Tatum says.

Antibody testing is the newest addition to the FAMU site. Tatum says four times as many people walk up to get that test as there are appointments. The FAMU location can do up to 200 antibody tests per day. Regular testing for the coronavirus is still available.
