The Leon County Sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate a former local youth pastor, following his Monday arrest for sexual offenses against children.
According to Special Victims Unit detectives, 41-year-old Roshad Thomas voluntarily came into the Sheriff’s office to speak with them Monday, before he was arrested and charged with six counts of sexual offenses against a child between the ages of 12 and 16.
Authorities say last week, a victim stated he or she had been fondled by Thomas a decade ago, at the age of 13. As the probe continued, investigators identified four additional victims so far, who say they too had sexual encounters with Thomas between 2007 and 2014.
Throughout his Tallahassee career, he’s worked with kids for more than 10 years in various capacities. In a twitter post over the weekend, Thomas said this was his last week living in Tallahassee because he was about to start a new job working with students for a nonprofit organization in South Florida.
