The agency tasked with promoting the arts in Tallahassee and Leon County now has a new interim director. She’s the temporary replacement for long-time head Peggy Brady, who served the agency for more than 20 years.
Amanda Thompson has worked at the Council on Culture and the Arts, or COCA, for the last eight years. COCA’s Board of Directors named Thompson interim director Monday, until it can find a new Executive Director to head the local arts agency.
Thompson replaces Executive Director Peggy Brady, who announced last month she’d be stepping down from her role to pursue a couple of local arts projects of her own full-time: her Laughing Stock theater company and its affiliated production company, Broadsway Productions.
Brady’s official last day is October 1st.
