A Florida A&M University institution has passed away. News of “Soul Train’s” death began circulating Monday on social media.

Alan Williams (D-Tallahassee) says he’s floating the idea of leaving the statehouse and returning to City Hall, where he was once Mayor John Marks’s chief of staff. Even though Williams is wavering, two Democrats have filed to run for his House seat.

Williams has at least one year left as House Democratic Whip and chair of the Legislative Black Caucus.
