Not all political events raise money for the candidates. During a few candidate events over the weekend, it was the politicians giving back to the community.
Ramon Alexander who's running for Florida House of Representatives District 8 held a women's health and fitness fair at the Tallahassee Community College Student Union on Saturday (7/9).
"We have vendors, we have individual chiropractors, nutritionists, yoga instructors (and) we've giving out free massages," he said, indicating the many booths and exhibits throughout the room. "We have so many partners that have come out throughout the community who understand that this is important that we have to have health and we have to have wellness in order to continue on for generations to come."
Then on Sunday, Leon County Commission hopeful Margaret Franklin held a Senior Talent Show at the Four Points by Sheraton. Part of the proceeds from that contest went to Tallahassee's Alzheimer's Project.
