Hours after Tony McDade died in an officer involved shooting, Tallahassee police held a press conference at the scene. Chief Lawrence Revell was quick to explain footage from the officer’s body camera would not be immediately released.

The bodies of Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau, 19, a missing protester and Victoria Sims, 75, an AARP volunteer were found on Monday street, Saturday night. The Tallahassee Police Department released the information Monday morning. TPD has taken a suspect, 49-year-old Aaron Glee Jr, into custody.

On Friday, a Leon County judge rejected a request for an injunction filed by the PBA to keep the officer’s identity concealed.

The board voted Wednesday to create a “citizens review board,” in partnership with the county commission and law enforcement agencies.

At the forefront of the protests is the fatal shooting of Tony McDade this week by a Tallahassee police officer.

Bodycam footage from the incident, obtained by WFSU, shows that about 40 seconds after officers approached Foster at Hobbit, they detained her and put her in handcuffs.

“We do understand that there’s concern ... that we would be sending officers into businesses with a tape measure and proactively ensuring compliance – but that is not something we did before and we do not plan to do that now,” - TPD spokesman, Officer Kevin Bradshaw
