Florida’s business recruitment program is in flux after major belt tightening and the departure of its CEO.

At Enterprise Florida’s regular board meeting in Destin, Vice President for External Affairs Mike Grissom, explains they’re waiting for new leadership to revamp the bonus structure.

“The Enterprise Florida board of directors under the recommendations of David Wilkins has been asked to take a look at our bonus structure,” Grissom explained.  “We have made the determination on counsel of our vice chair Alan Becker to delay those conversations to bring before you all until a CEO is named seeing as it looks as we’re heading in that direction.”

The state Legislature refused to fund Enterprise Florida in its last session.  Agency heads raised eyebrows when they doled out more than half a million dollars anyway in bonuses and severance pay.
