Broward County elections supervisor Brenda Snipes released the results of yesterday’s primary election about twenty minutes early.  Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner says that mistake could be costly.

“It’s unacceptable that the results were released prior to the polls closing,” Detzner said Tuesday night.  “We have referred this breach to the state attorney and to the sheriff of Broward County.”

Releasing results early constitutes a third degree felony, punishable by up to $5,000 in fines and even time in jail.
