Leon County's Main Library was literally full of characters on Saturday, Aug. 22. It was the library's yearly homage to superheroes and their sidekicks.

The hundreds of costumed kids - and grownups - who descended upon the library for Saturday's CosmicCon were greeted by members of a worldwide club that specializes in real-live Star Wars action figures. Library Services Manager Sally Mason was as stoked as the patrons.

"It's so exciting and amazing to come in and see the 501st Legion be here and dressed up in all their Star Wars gear and the kids coming in and they're floored! They're so excited and they get into it and start doing it themselves."

Besides all the cos-play, CosmicCon attendees also learned how to write and illustrate their own graphic novels to keep the animated arts alive.
