A Franklin County circuit Judge is facing charges she behaved inappropriately while serving on the bench in Wakulla County.
The Judicial Qualifications Commission is alleging Circuit Judge Jackie Fulford publicly supported a local sheriff candidate, and used her position to influence attorneys. The commission also says she used her position to help the son of her significant other who faced battery charges by contacting the prosecutor, frequently visiting him while he was in jail and attending a number of meetings relating to his case. In a notice detailing the formal charges, the commission says Fulford’s actions constitute a pattern of misconduct which raises questions about her fitness to perform her duties as a judge. While serving in Tallahassee, Fulford oversaw several high profile cases relating to the Florida legislature.
