Perspectives: Bees

From oranges, to almonds about a third of the foods we eat depend on pollination from insects like bees. Nation-wide, they’re responsible for pollinating about 15-billion dollars in crops each year as well as the production of about 150-million dollars of honey. And while that might sound sweet, experts say pesticide use and a changing global climate, are leading to a steep honey bee decline. We’ll talk with a local beekeepers about what that means for Florida, and how they’re working to protect Tallahassee’s bee population.
