On this final “official” day of the 2026 Florida Legislative Session, Tristan Wood recounts what happened – and what has yet to happen – as lawmakers will have to return to Tallahassee to complete unfinished business.

About three million Floridians receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – known as SNAP. Legislation at the federal and state level will impact these benefits for around three million participating Floridians.

The U-S has more than 400,000 certified remote pilots, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. More than 850,000 aerial drones are registered nationwide, and their use extends beyond personal enjoyment. School choice expansion in Florida in recent years has given parents more options for their children. This has led to an increase in "micro schools." WUSF's Daylina Miller spent a recent day at one such school in New Port Richey, which bases many of its classes around nature.
