Capital Report: April 2, 2025

Both the Florida House and Senate now have proposed their own versions of a new state budget. They’re only about $4.4 billion apart.

A proposal to reduce sales tax has passed its first House committee. Tristan Wood reports the move is at the center of a standoff between the state’s top political power players over what form tax reductions should take.
