Some controversial gun measures went almost right down to the wire in this year’s lawmaking session.  Sascha Cordner has the latest.

The children of undocumented immigrants in Florida will soon get to attend college for the same price as their cohorts. Regan McCarthy reports a bill to offer instate tuition to undocumented students passed the House Friday.

More Florida kids would be eligible for private school scholarships…more students would also be able to get regular high school diplomas under a bill edging toward passage during the last hours of the lawmaking session.  Lynn Hatter reports it’s a deal forged between the House and Senate to salvage the remains of a more controversial expansion of the school voucher program that didn’t fly in the Senate.

With 600 inmates securely housed at other detention facilities in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, the attention now turns to what caused Wednesday night’s explosion at the Escambia County Jail. From member station WUWF in Pensacola, Dave Dunwoody reports.

Florida Governor Rick Scott is taking on the Federal Veterans Administration.  As Bobbie O’Brien from member station WUSF in Tampa reports, it’s all about the well being of patients in the state’s V-A hospitals.
