The Franklin County Public Library finishes up their Summer Reading Program:

Week Six (July 14th-July 20th)
Tues, July 16th- Adult Crafts “Paint Native Flowers” @ 3:30 PM at both branches.
Thurs, July 18th- Summer STEM “DIY Birdhouses” @ 2:30 PM at both branches.
Fri, July 19th - Tie Dye Day @ 2:00 PM at Carrabelle (and @ 11:00 AM at Eastpoint).

Both library branches will have fun activities for both kids and adults during this program. The theme “Adventure Begins At Your Library” features the outdoors. There will be reading logs, prizes and incentives for all ages (including adults). Library programs are free and open to the public and participants do not need a library card to participate.

Join us for free watercolor workshops led by MoFA’s talented museum assistants, Kiki and Natalia! You’re invited to explore the world of watercolor art with dynamic pigments and flowing brushstrokes. Plus, here's an exciting opportunity: leave your watercolor creations from the workshop in our Freestyle Gallery to display!



These workshops, scheduled for this month and July, are designed for visitors of all levels.

There will be free walk-in workshops! No RSVP needed, just come as you are and immerse yourself in the joy of watercolor painting. The workshop dates are below:

Join the PIRATE Challenge – 2k Relay with your team of 3! The 2nd Annual ROW, RUN, RIDE benefitting Capital City Rowing – our area’s only youth rowing program - will take place on Sunday, September 29th at Apalachee Regional Park. Heats begin at 8 a.m. Teams of three will row, run, and ride their way to the finish line for all the booty! Registration is $25 per person. There will be speakers, music, food & more. Tallahassee historian, preservationist, and author Althemese Barnes, and Lisa Roberts, lifelong Frenchtown resident, discuss the history of Tallahassee’s Frenchtown neighborhood. Beginning with its settlement by formerly enslaved persons following the Civil War, Frenchtown grew to become a thriving middle-class Black community in the early 1900s. Learn about efforts to preserve this historic community and how people are trying to keep its history alive. The program is free and open to the public and will be held in the R.A. Gray Building, 500 S. Bronough Street, Tallahassee.

Toastmasters meetings offer opportunities for practicing public speaking and leadership skills. Members only need to have the desire to learn and develop skills, and receive helpful feedback.

Our club's objective:
To provide a supportive environment where members can practice leadership skills and communicating to groups in English.

The Tallahassee Civic Chorale presents its summer concert “We Sing Colors,” on Friday, June 28, 2024, 7:30 PM in the Turner Auditorium of the Tallahassee Community College. All the songs feature colors such as Pink Panther, Blue Moon, and, of course, Over the Rainbow! The concert also highlights our members in solo and ensemble performances. Following the concert is an ice cream social.

Please come and join us at the "A Salute to Veterans" event on June 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wakulla Community Center. This special event is open to all veterans and their families, with no registration needed and completely free of charge.

Enjoy a range of services, including medical, dental, and eye care, along with veteran services and counseling. Plus, First Florida Credit Union will be on-site offering financial literacy classes to help you manage your finances with confidence.
