Enjoy fresh muffins provided by Uptown Café & Catering, coffee from Argonaut, and a bubbly mimosa while exploring Perspectives in Pastel—a vibrant short-term exhibition featuring the students of Wendy Devarieux.

On view only October 21–November 1, this exhibition highlights the creativity and unique voices of emerging pastel artists. With just under two weeks to experience it, this is the perfect opportunity to slow down, savor something sweet, and enjoy art in good company.

Whether you're a seasoned marathoner, a casual jogger, or simply curious about the runner's mindset, Kevin Langston Sr's book Run 67@67 will inspire and energize you. His book is all about the highs, lows, and life lessons that come from hitting the road, and his inspiring journey proves that age is just a number.

About the Book

Run 67@67 is a book that explores the entire state of Florida, runner style. Kevin hopes to motivate others in other states to run every county in their state. This is a wonderful way to discover parks and other wonderful county secrets.

About the Author

Kevin Langston Sr. started running back in 1974, on Miami Central High's Track Team.

His 50 years of running got him all the way through his army retirement back in 1994.

He has logged 50,000 plus miles after his retirement from the army. Over the years, he went from a six-minute mile, then seven, then eight, and so forth. As a runner, he dreaded when he became a 9-minute miler, as that was the worst!

Nowadays, he is hanging on to his ten-minute pace with all that he's got. He is wonderfully comfortable being a ten-minute man. He has decreased his race attendance to a solid ten per year. He discovered (during COVID) the self-gratification of running alone.

He still pays his dues to his running clubs, but he thinks there is something wrong with having to wait till 8:30 AM to start a race in Florida when the humidity is waiting!

He motivates others with his efforts on the road. He is a true mile-logger!

About the Author

K.D. Thomas was raised in Tallahassee, Florida, and most of her stories are set in or around that area. Drawn to the mysteries of the universe, she seeks to unravel the meaning of existence. But being kept in darkness, the human mind can handle so much. Other than writing, she is obsessed with learning and rescuing animals. She has a degree in paralegal studies and is almost done with a BS in Criminology at Florida State University. Believing education should be a lifetime pursuit, she plans to always be taking a college class. Two of her dreams: to obtain a Ph.D. in Physics and to have ethics become an international trend.

LeMoyne Arts is delighted to present Perspectives in Pastel, a vibrant short-run exhibition showcasing the work of students of acclaimed pastel artist Wendy Devarieux. Each piece reveals a unique perspective, demonstrating the expressive range of this luminous medium—from delicate studies of light and texture to bold, colorful interpretations.

Join us for the Opening Reception on Tuesday, October 21 from 5:00–7:30pm, featuring live music by John Brashears and delicious catering by Hayward House.

STEMS4Girls, Inc. is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Lights On Afterschool rally in Cascades Park and a march to the Florida Capitol on Thursday, October 23rd from 4-6pm. This event will celebrate and advocate for the increase in funding for programs that support families and children, including afterschool programs, and early learning programs. Decades of research show the critical role that after school programs play in strengthening our communities by helping young students improve attendance, get better grades, and build skills in communication, teamwork and problem solving.

Carrabelle’s three museums will open their doors free of charge on Saturday, September 20 as part of the annual Museum Day celebration. In honor of this day, Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum, Carrabelle History Museum, and Crooked River Lighthouse Museum invite you to Carrabelle FL for special activities and exhibits. Camp Gordon Johnston Museum will be open from 11 am – 5 pm. Carrabelle History Museum will be open from 10 am – 5 pm. Crooked River Lighthouse will be open from 9 am – 5 pm. Guests can also enjoy the Country Farmer’s Market from 9 am-1 pm at Crooked River Lighthouse Park with local crafts, baked goods and area produce.

Each year, Museum Day goes beyond getting visitors through museum doors; it shines a spotlight on incredible culture and history exhibits. This year's theme, "Signals & Stories: Communication Across Time" will explore flashing beacons, radio calls, whispered tales and the signals that shaped our community and beyond. Each of Carrabelle’s museums will commemorate the theme with their own focus. Camp Gordon Johnston Museum will feature wartime communication through radio signals, codes, and stories of those who trained at Camp Gordon Johnston. Crooked River Lighthouse will highlight maritime signals like daymarks, semaphore flags and light signals. The Carrabelle History Museum will focus on storytelling through personal stories, community signals, and vintage postcards.

Guests can take part in hands-on activities and discover how these signals reveal cultural traditions and military valor. From lighthouse beams to military radios to family stories, the Forgotten Coast has long relied on signals to carry meaning across time. This year’s exhibits uncover how Carrabelle’s people, places, and artifacts served as beacons—communicating to residents and visitors through leadership, and legend.

Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum - Honors the military men and women as well as civilian personnel who trained and worked in Carrabelle and Franklin County during 1942 through 1946. The museum houses numerous displays of military artifacts, photos and memorabilia of many types. Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum is located at 1873 Highway 98 West, directly across from Carrabelle Beach where military troops practiced D-Day beach assaults. Carrabelle History Museum - Features local artifacts and exhibits including Carrabelle's Native American people, Shipwrecks of Dog Island, the Steamship “Tarpon”, the original “World’s Smallest Police Station”, Carrabelle industry and culture (seafood, lumber and more) and families from the pioneer days to the present. Crooked River Lighthouse - The history and the science of the lighthouse are displayed through interesting exhibits, including a historical setting of the early 1900’s, various lighthouse beacons, the methods of constructing a skeletal tower lighthouse, plus the lighthouse’s original 1895 Fresnel lens! Also on display are the original Keeper’s House clock, a barometer, an antique glass fire grenade, and more. Crooked River Lighthouse is located at 1975 Hwy 98 West, Carrabelle.
