Children’s Home Society of Florida is bringing Chefs’ Sampler back but with a TWIST! It’s our honor to introduce the second Chefs’ Taste of Home coming to Tallahassee on April 5, 2025, from 1-5 pm. We invite epicurean aficionados and experience seekers to join us for a Saturday afternoon indulging in the finest, local cuisine, artfully paired libations, and a walkabout around and within the area's finest homes.

Guests will set off on a guided tour of five, beautiful homes where at each stop enjoy an artfully curated signature dish from an esteemed Chef, wine pairings, and the company of community members who delight in the same explorations.

Funds raised through Chefs’ Taste of Home will benefit programs in Greater Tallahassee and help us continue to DO GOOD for our CHS children and families.

The Carrabelle History Museum is hosting the Carrabelle Culture Crawl on Saturday, March 22, 2025, 10 am to 3 pm. This cultural event is a free celebration of amazing local culture, art, music, history, food, and fun in the heart of downtown Carrabelle. This is a wonderful opportunity to add a bit more fun as you experience the wonderful local culture that Carrabelle has to offer.

The Carrabelle History Museum will be bringing live music and entertainment outdoors to the streets of Carrabelle, with Florida folk music from Frank Lindamood as well as classic country, modern songs, and favorite oldies. A variety of musicians will be performing outdoors for all to enjoy. Visitors will again spot fun, costumed characters from the Fishy Fashion Show wandering the streets. These walking photo ops are a fan-favorite at the Crawl.

Art will abound at the Crawl featuring some local artists and artisans. There will be art to view at a variety of shops and galleries. The always popular public art drawing and coloring activity will be hung in storefront windows as well as childrens’ art activities. Guests can stroll over to see Carrabelle’s two large, stunning murals.

Once again this year, a stunning array of classic, vintage, and modern cars will be rolling into the Crawl. Car enthusiasts and spectators alike can look forward to an impressive display of automotive beauty and craftsmanship in Carrabelle’s historic district.

The Crawl will feature a diverse lineup of activities and exhibitors, celebrating Carrabelle’s rich heritage and local craftsmanship. The Lanark Village Wandering Star Quilters will showcase their artisan skills with demonstrations and displays, while several local authors will be on hand to sign their books. Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations of cast net throwing and leatherworking, highlighting traditional skills. Additionally, FSU’s Anthropology Department will bring fascinating artifacts and an interactive hands-on activity, offering a unique glimpse into the past.

Carrabelle’s delicious food offerings will again be celebrated. Carrabelle’s local restaurants and cafes will be offering fresh seafood, award-winning crab cakes, salads, deli sandwiches, burgers, and more.

Guests can learn about the culture and history of the area at the exhibits at the Carrabelle History Museum on Avenue B including the Shipwrecks of Dog Island; Tate’s Hell the Place, Tate’s Hell the Legend; and Native People’s exhibits plus discover the by-gone eras when local logging and lumber merchants, steamships, and shrimping vessels lined the deep Carrabelle River.

The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Moonlit Evening at the Lighthouse event on Friday, March 14, 2025 in Carrabelle, FL. Visitors can enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings of St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the sunset and rising Worm Moon. This special evening kicks off early with Worm Grunting Demos from 5:00-6:00 pm ET, a fascinating pre-event showcasing the art of enticing earthworms from the ground—a nod to the evening's theme. From 6:00-9:00 pm ET, visitors can enjoy the main event beneath the beautiful Worm Moon, named for the earthworms that signal the arrival of spring.

Visitors can experience an after-hours tour of the Keeper’s House Museum and see the exhibit of the lighthouse’s original, historic Fresnel lens constructed in 1894 in Paris, France. Guests can browse the unique nautical gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop. A glowing bonfire will light up the night, creating a perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy the evening—don’t forget to bring a chair!

For those brave souls who are bold enough to venture to the top of the tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast, evening tower climbs are scheduled at 15-minute intervals throughout the event. Climbers will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the bay. Evening climbs cost $10 and climb reservations are strongly encouraged due to limited availability. Climbers must be at least 44 inches tall and children under 12 (FREE) with ticketed adults. Join Tallahassee Downtown and Tallahassee Film Festival for Movies in the Park. On Wednesday, March 12th we will be showing La La Land in Kleman Plaza for free. Come early around 7:30 PM to get set up, order food, and get ready for the movie to start around 8:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to set up on the grass. Attendees will be able to mobile order food onsite from participating downtown restaurants including JoEllen’s and Hayward House.
