Perspectives: Restorative Justice

Tom and a guest in fm lobby

On Monday, Aug. 19, Tallahassee’s Good Samaritan United Methodist Church will host a community-wide discussion on how the concept of restorative justice can be used to reduce the area’s crime rate and the overall cost of the criminal justice system.  Providing a preview of the event are:  Longmont, Colorado Chief of Public Safety Michael Butler (the event’s keynote presenter); Second Judicial Circuit State Attorney Jack Campbell; and Dr. Jeremiah Murphy, representing the Community Connection that has applied the principles of restorative justice to juvenile cases in the area.
