Capital Report: April 13, 2023

A bill to ban most abortions after six-weeks will soon be on its way to the governor. Regan McCarthy reports on the day-long debate.

A backlash is brewing in higher education over a bill that could alter the way certain subjects are taught and discussed in Florida. The Republican-led legislature continues advancing the measure which places restrictions and heightened scrutiny on certain subject matter, programs and theories. As Lynn Hatter reports, the consequences are already roiling academia.

Hundreds of union members have come to the Capitol, where they have tried -- without success -- to stop a bill designed to weaken labor unions for teachers, state workers and other public employees. Steve Bousquet reports on the latest showdown this week in the Florida House.
