Republican lawmakers have unveiled an elections bill that’s nearly a hundred pages long. Most of the provisions in the new legislation won’t directly affect voters but as Valerie Crowder reports some voting rights advocates are concerned the measure will suppress the vote.
A bill moving in the Legislature would override most aspects of the relationship between Florida landlords and tenants. As Margie Menzel reports, it would eliminate local ordinances such as the tenant bill of rights in Miami-Dade and Hillsborough counties.
A proposal dubbed the “Student Online Personal Information Protection Act” is ready for consideration by the full Senate, as Gina Jordan reports.
