Starting Monday, restaurants will be able to host customers, but at a diminished capacity. Ryan Dailey recently spoke with Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association CEO Carol Dover about where the industry stands ahead of the governor’s “first step” to re-opening.

Questions:

0:00- Governor Ron DeSantis’ “Phase 1” of re-opening the state economy permits restaurants to use outdoor seating, and 25 percent indoor capacity for customers. What does that mean for restaurants in terms of positives as they re-open their doors, and challenges that lie ahead?

1:36- COVID-19 has changed consumer behavior a great deal. How will restaurants deal with that going forward?

2:53- As someone who’s plugged in to the industry, what are you hearing from restaurant concerning their readiness, and willingness, to reopen – or not?
