Public Invited To Imagine Tallahassee At Forums Tonight, Tuesday

The urban planning group Imagine Tallahassee is ready for public input, and they’re taking it during forums on Monday evening and on Tuesday. The group wants to hear from as many city residents as possible as they work toward a vision for Tallahassee’s future.

Imagine Tallahassee is a private group that plans to make suggestions to local officials after seven months of interactive events. John Fernsler is with the urban planning firm Wallace, Roberts and Todd, who are putting on the community forums.

Fernsler said, "At tonight’s exercise, we’re going to be asking folks to tell us their Tallahassee story. What brought them to Tallahassee intitally, what keeps them in Tallahassee,” and, he said, what they’d like the city to become.

The firm will eventually share that vision with the local sales tax steering committee.

Monday’s event starts at 5:30 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, at 501 Orange Avenue. Tuesday’s event is at 2 p.m. at City Hall.
