How do you create a community that will be a great place to live for the majority of its residents?  Simply make it the best place it can be for young people aged 8 and older folks aged 80.  That’s the premise of the “8-80 Cities” concept, being advocated by a Toronto-based non-profit urban planning organization.  Gil Penarosa with that group has been meeting with multiple people in Tallahassee to discuss that idea this week and appears on Perspectives, along with: Cynthia Solomon Barber, assistant city manager for Community Engagement and Public Safety with the City of Tallahassee; Ben Pingree, director of PLACE with the City and County; Christic Henry, longtime neighborhood organizer and advocate; and Lindsey Magura, project manager with North American Properties, a major developer in Tallahassee.
