Capital Report: 08-21-2015

With the end of a special session looming, state lawmakers scrambled Friday—looking for a way to agree on a new congressional map for Florida.  But Nick Evans reports lawmakers failed to make any headway, and it leaves the door open for the state Supreme Court to redraw borders.

The fight between Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration and Planned Parenthood ramped up this week with a lawsuit.  Lynn Hatter reports the state says three of Florida’s Planned Parenthood clinics admit to performing abortions outside the scope of their licenses.  But the clinics insist they did nothing wrong.

A statewide council looking to build on Florida’s current anti-human trafficking efforts is mulling over potential legislation for 2016. Sascha Cordner reports.
