Florida’s plan to privatize the state’s Medicaid program for low-income residents, was billed as a cost-saver to the state. And last year, Florida healthcare officials started steering people out of the old fee-for-service model, and into private health plans. But as Lynn Hatter reports the insurance companies are coming back to the state, saying they’re running more than 500-million dollars in the red.

Lawmakers are preparing their return to Tallahassee, but for some August’s special session will complicate professional lives at home.  Nick Evans has more.
