The juvenile suspect faces multiple charges.

A 16-year-old is behind bars following a shooting in Quincy that left one person hospitalized. The incident happened Sunday at the Gadsden Arms Apartments in Quincy.

The suspect was arrested Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and discharging firearm in public or on residential property in connection to the incident.

The shooting incident sent one person to the hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Quincy Police have yet to release any names, but said they found the victim at the apartment complex, the same spot where officers responded to reports of gunfire. The victim was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to a press release, QPD were unable to locate the shooter, that’s when they turned to state and federal authorities.

Following a 2-day investigation, in coordination with the State Attorney's Office, U.S. Marshals, and the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office; Quincy Police confirmed the suspect was a juvenile.

The shooting is still under investigation. Any further details will be released as they become available.
