One of William Shakespeare's funniest comedies tops the bill in February's Shakespeare in the Park Festival in Tallahassee. "The Merry Wives of Windsor" will include a well-known TV and online star in a leading role.
That star is Charisma Carpenter. "Buffy and the Vampire Slayer" fans know her well, as she also went on to play in the spin-off "Angel" series. Since then, she's been a prolific podcaster and social commentator. Southern Shakespeare's Executive Director Bianca Montague says she's a perfect fit for the role of the lusty and liberated "Mistress Ford."
"We're very excited to have a high-energy comedy featuring two very strong, clever women in the lead who wreck some light hearted revenge on our rogue, our Falstaff."
The 2027 Shakespeare in the Park Festival runs February 25th through the 28th.
