The Chain of Parks Art Festival happens this Saturday and Sunday (April 18 and 19) in downtown Tallahassee. Last-minute preparations were in high gear for an event that attracts tens-of-thousands of people.

Volunteers from all over the area, like Julie McBride, have been working for months.

"We have high school students volunteering, we have college students and then we have old people like me who love Tallahassee!"

Another volunteer is Leon School Board Member Rosanne Wood. She's excited about Saturday afternoon's parade of puppets, courtesy of Linda Hall.

"I think we have about 30 puppeteers coming, so that's a parade through the festival."

Wood's daughter - and Festival Manager Powell Kreis - says the main attraction is still the outstanding local, regional and national artist creations.

"There's 180 fine artists from all over the country, there's over 15 food trucks, live entertainment, a bar."
