Tallahassee’s annual FreeCon event, is happening this weekend.

The anime, gaming, and pop culture event is hosted by the Japanese Animation Club of Tallahassee. Taylor Torres is one of the people helping to organize the convention.

“Effectively we offer the same convention experience that you would typically receive at a paid convention expect its totally free to the public. That includes FSU students and non-FSU students," he said.

The event features 30 panels, artists and other vendors. Its speakers this year include Patrick Pedraza, a voice actor most known for voicing Scaramouche in the video game Genshin Impact.

The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Florida State University Student Union, starting at 11 am both days.
