Postcard perfect weather made the 58th Annual Springtime Tallahassee Festival even more festive.
Saturday's celebration began with the traditional parade on Monroe Street. Among the happy participants was Neil Rambana, who was part of the Marzuq Shrine Temple's scooter patrol.
"I'm amazed at the color on all of the costumes of the people who are participating! I've never seen it this big! It's fantastic!"
With thousands of spectators along Monroe Street, and hundreds of students in the line of marching bands, Leon School Superintendent Rocky Hanna says the parade is a great promotional tool.
"When Leon's band goes by, or Lincoln's band goes by, or the Raa band goes by, little kids who are standing on the sidewalk say, 'Hey! I want to be in that band!'"
The parade is also a great showcase for organizations like Honor Flight. Just ask member Tom Morgan.
"It's super important to get the message out because our veterans have to be honored for the services they rendered for our country."
After the parade, the celebration continued in Tallahassee's downtown parks and along Adams Street.
