Just about everybody remembers the story of the Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. An updated, musical version of the tale will be on the stage of the Young Actors Theatre starting this Friday evening, Feb. 20.

In the Young Actors' production of "Honk, Jr." essentially the entire company of performers will hit the stage during the ten performances. Theatre CEO Sarah Roy says the kids will portray all manner of creatures in addition to the human roles.

"We have 2 casts totaling 70 students, aged 9 to 18 year olds. We have older students mentoring younger students and it's really special to see the bond and community spirit that has grown in this rehearsal process. And we can't wait to bring it to audiences. It's such a delightful show!"

At just an hour in length, the show is also perfect for the modest attention spans of younger kids.
