The Tallahassee Camelia Society held its 72nd Annual Camelia Show over the weekend. The event brings in lovers of the iconic southern blossoms from all over.

The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Doyle Connor Center was filled with flowers and their fanciers on Saturday and Sunday. Event Co-chair Stewart Tomlinson said this has been a major happening for nearly three-quarters of a century.

"We regularly have one of the largest shows in the southeast. Today, we have 1,535 blooms from about 30 different exhibitors."

And it's not about simply admiring the flowers. Exhibitors were eager to share their tools and techniques for growing ever larger and more spectacular Camelia blooms.
